Antique Greetings

Nothing gives me more pleasure and pride than the greeting cards that once belonged to my grandmother. I love them. I love the texture of the paper, the details on each card, the inked handwriting from the sender inside. The cards are precious to me and I love looking through them, something I do at least once a year.

Valentine's Day is long past, but look at these wonderful cards! Just look at the ribbon and lace on this one. Isn't it grand? Who wouldnt' have loved to get this special card from a special friend?

This one is made of crisp vellum, one of my favorite papers. It is embossed with various inks and metallic paints. It's a masterpiece.

Mother's Day is coming up. How about this lovely card for mom?

And how about a nice masculine one for Dad in June?

And in only two months or so we'll be sending congratulations cards to all the graduates.

  2. Those are lovely. Recently a friend was going through her things and sent us the birth announcement we had sent out for our youngest daughter. Over the years somehow we had lost our copy and it was a delight to receive it. It was tiny and cute and pink - and our daughter will be 40 this December - so you know it was different than the ones sent out today.

  4. You have some beautiful cards. I so agree with you. Vintage cards are just so wonderful to look at. My husband bought and antique card display at an auction for me one year. It came from the old Woolsworth store. It is made of wood and has the display on top with 4 large drawers on the bottom The drawers were full of vintage cards for every occassion. I love looking through all of them. So enjoyed looking at yours. blessings,Kathleen
