Well-Hung Furniture
Got your attention, didn't I?
Check out the furniture in this article. Those skinny-legged, low-backed chairs are so retro! The concept of hanging furniture on the wall so that it can be moved up out of the way is a bit strange, but practical. I have to admit, I've never seen it done. The only drawback I can see is the inability to rearrange the furniture once it's installed.
The retro colors in the drawings are nice and make me think of the colors my grandma used in her house. Remember avocado green? Mustard yellow? Aqua blue? Yeah, I knew you would.

ReplyDeleteChris
I'm pretty sure I remember seeing that desk in somebody's house when I was a kid. Sketch artists and illustrators definitely had a lot better chance of finding a job then, eh?
ReplyDeleteThe first refrigerator we bought was avocado green. Remember that ugly brown called Coppertone? That was the worst!
Chris, made ya look!
ReplyDeleteSusan, yes, I remember that color! You're right--it was ugly!
I knew about the bed that flipped up against the wall.
ReplyDeleteOur kitchen was in avacado green and by BF's was the coppertone.
13 eggs out of 14 layers is fabulous.
I once boarded in a room that had a bed that folded up against the wall. It had to be flipped up in order to get the door open, and had straps like in a suitcase to keep the sheets in place.
ReplyDeleteAnd even though I didn't like it the first time around I am collecting avocado and aqua and mustard (not the harvest gold) for my kitchen.
